First and last day skiing Lake Tahoe

Drove from utah to lake Tahoe on friday. Thought it would be good to get ahead of the storm. Driving through Nevada was remote. Some snow capped mountains and also a dry dessert like environment. One of the rest areas had a description of the California Trail and the people moving through this area in wagons.
Saturday was a nice day at Heavenly. 3-6 of new snow and snowing all day. Upper lifts closed due to high winds so I only saw about 1/3  of the mountain. Part of this is due to size. There were a number of lifts in the Nevada side that were open but there was plenty where I was.
No indication anything was wrong during the day but when I checked the snow report at night they said all ski areas are closed. A quick decision.
They are supposed to get 4 feet+ in the mountains the next few days. No skiing though!
