Game Over

Lake Tahoe is shutting down. Hotels are open which is very fortunate for me. Super markets are open but not much there due to hording. Most everything else shut down.
Still snowing today (monday). Maybe another foot last night and another foot today. I can't say how much the mountains got but very conservatively 5 feet. If the mountains were open it would certainly be the best skiing this year.
The mountains are closed for a week and in theory could re-open. I talked to a guy at a ski shop and he thinks they are done for the year. I think he is correct. I can't see them opening with everything else shut down.
It seems the trip is over. My goal at this point is to get somewhere warm so if I need to sleep in my car I can in relative comfort. Too much snow to leave town today and probably tomorrow.
Perhaps the worst timing for a vacation in many years! Hope gas stations remain open. You never know the way things have been rapidly falling apart.
I did take a nice walk today near the lake in a blizzard. There was a boat moored out there! The lake must never freeze.

Today:

Yesterday. Since then the casinos have closed down along with restaurants and most things. I briefly walked into a casino to see what it was like. As you would expect! Picture of car is from yesterday am. It snowed another foot+ since then. No salt here but they plow well and the temperature is around 32. I have chains but have been avoiding them. They are a pain and my car seems fine around town.
