Baxter SP - Katahdin

 Hellon Tailor trail->Pamola->Knife edge->Katahdin->Saddle trail->Chimney Pond->Chimney Pond Trail

The weather wasn't great today but at least it wasn't raining. OK, it did rain a little on the way down. There were some nice views here and there. Chimney Pond was calm and had amazing reflections. Good views on the way up in the am also. When I got back to the park gate it was sunny. The person running the campground said it was sunny all day!

The knife edge is an interesting hike. The part from Pamola to the knife edge proper has some steep areas where you need to use hand holds. Today you could see down both sides once in a while between the clouds.

It seems like there are only a few campers at the campground. The person running the campground said it will be busy for the weekend but I may be only one here tomorrow.

As you can see in the pictures today went from black and white to color.

Steep part near Pamola. Notice person in picture.
