Grand Junction CO - What to do?

I have been to the Grand Junction and Fruita area a number of times. There is a lot here. Hiking, mountain biking, road bike paths. This morning we went to the Colorado Welcome Center in Fruita. Two knowledgeable people gave us the maps and about a month worth of ideas. We learned about 2 or 3 areas we have not been to and more trails in areas we have been to. This is a list of possibilities:

Dominique Escalante: National conservation area. Great canyon hike with petroglyphs. Bridgeport road turn just after mile marker 52 on route 50. Petroglyphs just back in road from parking area and around 3 to 3.5 miles into hike.

For future look into Newcomers Club for variety of activities in area. Meet like minded people.

Devils Canyon and Pollock Bench West of Fruita.

Bangs Canyon East of Grand Junction. Third Flats trailhead. Bangs Canyon trailhead. Bangs Canyon trailhead has Mica mine trail (2.7 miles) and Rough canyon trail. Also Ribbon Trail (6.7 miles). The ribbon trail.

McInnis Canyons: McDonald Creek trailhead (8 miles RT), loop counter clockwise. Rabbits Ear trailhead (6 miles RT) , loop clockwise.

Lunch loop trails.

Colorado Riverfront Trails: 20+ miles of paved road bike trail.

Grand Mesa skiing. Three trailheads for groomed skiing: Skyway, County Line, and Ward. Lots of other ungroomed trails. Gmnc.org.

Colorado National Monument.

Kodel 1: 2.1 miles RT. Located near the West entrance to the Colorado National Monument.

Mt Garfield.

Palisade Rim Trailhead.
