McInnis Canyons

This is a large area of BLM land West of Fruita. Today we were out near the Utah border. The first hike was Rabbits Ear Trailhead. Definitely desert here. This hike goes up to a Mesa with great views of the Colorado River and the La Sal mountains, which we saw from Moab also, in the distance. Another good hike to do here someday is the McDonald Creek Trailhead. This is an 8 mile loop and is supposed to be nice.

After the hike we went to a short walk on the Trail Through Time Trailhead. A strange area of rock from the Jerasic period. They found a number of dinosaur fossils here. They left a few in place on the trail. Hard to determine what it is even with the signs.
