Palisade Rim Trail

After skiing in the morning we drove 30 miles and went from 10,000 foot elevation to 4,500. Winter to 60 degree hiking in the desert. The Palisade Rim Trail has a lower loop and an upper loop. We just did the lower today. There are also a few other trails from this trail head so a lot of hiking in the area. The trail has great views of the Colorado River and the town of Palisade which has a lot of farming. The trail loops on a Mesa for views in all directions. There are also some petroglyphs just off the route we were on. Pretty amazing to ski in many feet of snow in the morning and hike in 60 degree desert in the afternoon!
