Another great day! Mostly sunny with another 4 inches of new snow on top of lots of snow in the last few days. Beaver Creek is a great mountain. Large area with lots of terrain. Lots of steep terrain and plenty of lifts and variety. Not crowded today so I was finding fresh tracks all day until I ran out of energy. There is some woods there and not a lot of people go there. It started snowing again in the early afternoon. Further away than Breckenridge from where I am staying in Silverthorne (40 miles vs 12). Since Breckenridge is great also it is hard not to go there but nice to have more variety today.
Beaver Creek is what Vail resorts is hoping to turn every resort into. The entire base area is covered with shops, condos, and high end properties. To get to the lifts you take a bus and then go up three escalators while you walk by all kinds of stores and buildings.
Next in the plan is Grand Junction and some hiking at Colorado National Monument.
