Today in the AM was Murphy loop. Another good Canyonlands hike. It starts with a flat walk across grass lands and then you get to the top of the canyon. The trail switchbacks down to the bottom of the canyon and in this case follows a wash. Started out nice at 45 and went up to 75. Moab is 85 again. Afternoon was Aztec Butte and Neck Spring. In a day or two the plan is to go to Canyonlands Needles entrance. The two entrances are about 100 miles away by road. The Needles area is pretty large so maybe two days?
Moab is motor city. The camp ground is full of jeeps, 4 wheelers, motorcycles. Anything with a motor. lots if expensive toys. Three people were under their vehicles messing around on my walk to the bathroom. The campground is likely a superfund site but hopefully most of the oil and gas leaks into a nearby wash.
Dinner at Arches. Not a great dinner but the views were OK. First picture is your typical camper.
