Capitol Reef - half day

Travel from Bryce area to Moab. The drive from Panguitch to Escalante to Capitol Reef to Moab was pretty nice. Like being in one long park particularly from Escalante through Capitol Reef. I need to spend some time in this area some day.

at Capitol Reef I went on the Chimney Rock trail. Nice 4 mile loop into a wide canyon. Could keep going beyond the loop but I did  not have time. Next was Hickman Bridge. This is a big arch with lots of interesting views to get there. This area was pretty different from the Chimney Rock area.

Lots of trail signs past Escalante before Capitol Reef. There is more Dixie national forest in this area. Large area! There is a pass that goes up to 9500 feet. This would be tough driving if there was snow so this route would not be recommended in winter.

Moab is pretty insane. I am hoping Canyonlands will be OK. You need tickets to go to Arches! At camp ground a few miles out of town. Seems good but with typical limited Wifi.
